Excellent Experienced Education TeamRe-elect Bill Dussling and Alva J. Kreutzer, and elect F. Daniel PetroHigh School District 214 school board members, Bill Dussling of Arlington Heights and Alva Kreutzer of Elk Grove Village will seek re-election to the board at the April 5, 2011 election. Bob Zimmanck has announced that after 23 years on the board he will not be a candidate in April. Dussling is the current president of the board and has been on the board for 13 years. Kreutzer has served as vice president of the board and a member of the board for 12 years. In addition, she also served four years on the board of education of District 59 in Elk Grove Township. Both Dussling and Kreutzer cited that they are running to maintain the district's educational excellence and fiscal control. Dussling stated, "District 214 is a lighthouse district in this state and across the country. The school district has had a balanced operating budget for the past 16 years and has not held a tax referendum in over 40 years." Kreutzer agreed stating, "District 214 is nationally recognized as a leader in innovative educational activities and program offerings, such as Mandarin Chinese (partnering with Harper College, Michigan State University and others) and an advanced engineering curriculum". Dussling and Kreutzer are teaming with Dan Petro of Arlington Heights who will seek the board position that Bob Zimmanck occupied. Dussling said, "We are fortunate that Dan has come forward as a candidate. He has great experience having been a board member in Arlington Heights School District 25 for 12 years, where he also served as president." Kreutzer said, "Any time that you have a candidate with Dan's school board experience, who is willing to be a member of District 214's Board of Education, you have to be sure he/she are supported. That is why we are teaming with Dan". Petro said, "I am gratified that Bill and Alva asked me to run with them. I have so much respect for District 214 and what the board, administration, staff and entire community have accomplished. I believe that my board experience will allow me to support and further the district's outstanding reputation." Please vote April 5thAbout the Candidates:Fiscal Accountability:
